Overview
This article outlines the official firmware support plan for Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) devices integrated with the Arcules platform. To ensure reliable performance, compatibility, and continued support, customers are encouraged to follow the firmware guidelines described below.
Additionally, this article also includes guidance on device firmware verification and the steps required to upgrade outdated firmware versions.
Firmware Requirements
For 2GB RAM Cameras
Supported Firmware: 11.6 up to 11.11.*
Note: We recommend upgrading to firmware 11.11.* for the latest security and stability fixes in the 11.11 long-term support (LTS) track. Versions 11.6–11.10 are outdated and may soon be incompatible with Arcules products.
For 1GB RAM Cameras
Must be running firmware version 11.11.* or higher.
Note: Older firmware versions are not supported due to performance and stability issues.
For Mixed Environments (1GB + 2GB)
To maintain maximum compatibility and consistent performance, use Firmware version 11.11.* across all cameras, regardless of RAM.
To identify the RAM specifications of your devices, please refer to our Supported Devices article.
Upcoming Firmware Support
We are currently working to support Axis Firmware Version 12, also known as the Axis Active Track. This is the most up-to-date and feature-rich firmware track from Axis, designed for customers who want access to the latest features and improvements.
We will share additional updates as soon as support for this firmware version is complete.
Device Firmware Verification
Find your device on your network and access the Axis OS interface
Enter your device’s IP address in your Chrome browser window.
How do I find my device's IP address?
You can use AXIS IP Utility or AXIS Device Manager
You can also use alternative methods like an ARP scan.
Check your firmware version under Device info in the Axis OS Interface Status tab.
If your firmware version is lower than what is explained in the section above, follow the steps below to update the device's firmware:
Note: If you require to perform the firmware installation in multiple devices at the same time, please consider using the Axis Device Manager (ADM) application
Access the Maintenance tab (located in the left menu) in the Axis OS Interface.
Click the Upgrade button (next to the Do a firmware upgrade text).
Download your latest supported firmware.
Select the firmware you previously downloaded, select a standard upgrade, and confirm the install.
The firmware installation may take some time - don't refresh your browser, unplug your device, or otherwise disrupt the install.
