Overview
This article describes the firmware requirements for i-PRO (ipro) cameras supported in Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) deployments. Ensuring cameras run supported firmware versions is essential for reliable connectivity, security updates, and compatibility with cloud services.
Before onboarding an i-PRO camera to the Arcules platform, verify that the camera firmware is up-to-date and compatible with the device model.
Scope
This article applies to i-PRO cameras supported for Camera-to-Cloud integration.
Firmware Requirement
i-PRO releases firmware updates for cameras periodically to address security vulnerabilities, add functionality, and improve performance.
For Camera-to-Cloud deployments, the following firmware guidelines apply:
Requirement | Description |
Recommended firmware | Latest firmware version available from i-PRO (more information available in the i-PRO webpage) |
Deployment best practice | Upgrade firmware before onboarding the camera |
Running the latest firmware available for the specific camera model is strongly recommended.
Additional Camera Requirements
Before onboarding an i-PRO camera to a Camera-to-Cloud deployment, verify the following prerequisites:
Requirement | Description |
Internet connectivity | Camera must have outbound internet access |
Edge storage | A MicroSD card is recommended for edge recording and buffering |
Camera configuration access | Administrator access to the camera web interface |

Upgrade the firmware if necessary.
Firmware Upgrade Best Practices
To ensure stable operation of Camera-to-Cloud deployments:
Upgrade cameras to the latest available firmware prior to onboarding.
Maintain consistent firmware versions across cameras in the same deployment.
Always download firmware directly from the official i-PRO web portal.
Perform firmware upgrades during a maintenance window to avoid recording interruptions.
