Overview
On Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) cameras, recording and Live View are two independent video streams. When you change the Recording Resolution in a camera's Settings, Arcules asks the camera to match Live View to it, but the camera decides what it actually delivers.
Note: Live View resolution is best effort. Always verify the image in the video player for your use case.
What to expect by camera brand
Camera | Live View behavior |
Axis | Arcules requests a Live View resolution that matches the recording resolution. |
i-PRO | Live View stays at 1080p. Matching the recording resolution is not available yet. |
Why Live View may differ from your setting
Recording or SD card issues. If recording is off or the SD card is missing or has failed, Live View may not update, or the setting may fail to save with the message An error occurred while saving device settings. Check that the camera is online and recording, then try again.
Multiple viewers. A change can take several seconds to reach everyone watching the camera.
Verify the result
After changing a resolution, Live View updates automatically, usually within about 5 seconds on Axis cameras. Confirm the image shows the detail you need.
If the issue continues, contact Arcules Support with the camera model, firmware version, selected recording resolution.
