Introduction

Chrome Box Kiosk Mode offers a powerful and user-friendly solution for displaying your Arcules Views on large screens or TVs for monitoring areas continuously without interruption. In kiosk mode, you can make the most of your display's real estate, making it ideal for dedicated monitoring stations or public viewing areas where ease of use is paramount.

By leveraging Chrome Box Kiosk Mode, you're not just viewing your surveillance feeds – you're optimizing your entire security monitoring process and enhancing situational awareness. Whether you're safeguarding a business, overseeing public spaces, or securing a private property, stay focused on what matters most, with minimal distractions and maximum efficiency.

Requirements

Hardware

Tested Model

ASUS Chromebox 4 with Intel® Celeron, 4GB RAM, 32GB eMMC storage, Power/DisplayPort Over Type C, Dual HDMI, Gigabit LAN, WiFi 6, USB 3.2, MicroSD Card Reader, VESA Mount, Chrome OS

Most chrome box devices are expected to work, however, the total number of channels viewable at a single time may be affected.

Network

For the best viewing experience, we recommend implementing and using the viewing stations with a WebRTC local connection. While the system is compatible with cloud-based feeds, please be aware that the quality may differ due to potential bandwidth limitations and packet loss inherent in cloud streaming.

To ensure smooth operation, verify that your Chrome Box device can access the local cameras and devices within your network setup.

Licenses

To remotely configure devices and apply policies, Google requires a Kiosk license. There are three primary methods to obtain these licenses:

  1. Direct Purchase from Google

  2. VAR/Distributor Acquisition

  3. Bundled License and Hardware SKU

  • Continuous Live Viewing

And access to the Sites and Locations where the relevant cameras reside.

Step 2: Setup the view station
