How to add a Gateway to your Arcules Portal.

Updated over 11 months ago

We're thrilled to have you on board and excited to guide you through setting up your new Arcules Gateway. Let's embark on this journey together to seamlessly connect your cameras to the cloud.

Overview

Firstly, unbox your shiny new Arcules Gateway and let's dive into the setup process. Here’s a simple guide to help you along the way:

The Gateway

Ready for the next step? Great! Find the MAC address on the side of your gateway (have a peek at the image below).

IMPORTANT: When first unboxing the Gateway, connect the device’s ethernet to your network before plugging in the power supply and turning it on.

If this is your organization's first Gateway, please follow instructions on how to register and log in to your portal.

Adding a Gateway

Now, head over to the Sites page in your portal. Here’s what to do:

  1. Click "New Location" to create your unique location.

  2. Fill in your location details and hit save.

Once your location is set, select it to access a custom page for your site. For a quick view of all devices, click 'All Devices' and marvel at how the map view elegantly switches to a table view.

To add your Gateway, simply:

  1. Click the friendly blue '+' sign.

  2. Choose 'Add Gateway' from the dropdown.

  3. Enter the MAC-address, give your Gateway a name, and add it to your location.

After adding, your Gateway will update to the latest software version automatically (this might take a few minutes).

You'll get a success message once the setup is complete. Now, you can either add cameras using the installation wizard or click Done if you’re all set for now. Need more info on adding and managing cameras? Our Devices Article is just a click away!

Gateway Edge Mode

Edge gateways must be configured to run in Edge mode. If your gateway is not already in edge mode, you must contact Arcules Customer Care to enable the feature on the backend. Once this enabled on the backend you must do the following steps to enable the feature on the front end:

  1. Click on Devices>Gateway>Storage

  2. Under Pure Cloud, click on Change Storage

  3. Place the number of days you would like to set the retention time for

  4. Click on Apply Changes

  5. Click on Convert
