Information about available Video Analytics in Arcules

Updated over 4 months ago

Upon detection of any camera or cloud analytics, Arcules can record video, report alarms or send notifications to designated users. This is done through the Arcules Rules engine.

Camera Analytics

Current Supported Axis Analytics:

Axis Object Analytics Device Analytics -

If you have Axis cameras that support Axis Object Analytics (AOA), you can use people and vehicle detections from them throughout your Arcules system.

  • People in Region - Detect the presence of persons in a designated region within a camera’s field of view. Multiple detection regions can be created for each camera. The default region is the camera's entire field of view.

  • Vehicle in Region - Detect the presence of vehicles in a designated region within a camera’s field of view. Multiple detection regions can be created for each camera. The default region is the camera's entire field of view.

    • Vehicles include cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and bikes. All vehicle types are called "vehicles" and are not split into categories.

Axis Object Analytics (AOA) is a suite of analytics for certain enabled cameras from Axis Communications that supports detecting people and vehicles, as well as supporting different scenarios to trigger alerts. This can be used to trigger Arcules Rules.

Legacy Axis Analytics Supported:

  • Fence Guard - Monitors a virtual fence and sends an alarm if a person or object crosses the fence. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Loitering Guard - Tracks moving objects and triggers an event if they’ve been in an area for too long. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Motion Guard - Detects and triggers an event when objects move within a predefined area in the camera view. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Object Analytics - Detects, classifies and counts moving objects (people and vehicles). Trigger an alarm and/or notification based on any scenario.

  • People Counter - Counts and reports the number of people entering and leaving a specific area. Trigger an alarm and/or notification based on counter values set.

  • People Counter - Counts and reports the number of people entering and leaving a specific area. Trigger an alarm and/or notification based on counter values set.

  • Occupancy - Sets up a counter with the current number of objects in the field. Generate an alarm event if a certain number of objects are inside a field

  • Thermal Radiometry - Detects thermal radiation from an object or body to measure relative surface temperature and sends an alarm if an object or body hits the target alarm threshold. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Cross Line - Sends an alarm when an object moving to the specified direction crosses the line. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Direction - Monitors an area and sends an alarm when a moving object enters the area and moves to the specified direction. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Intruder - Monitors an area and sends an alarm if a moving object enters the area. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Loitering - Monitors an area and sends an alarm when a moving object enters the area and stays for a specified period. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Object - Monitors an area and sends an alarm when an object (i.e. suspicious object) is left behind in the area or removed from the area. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

  • Scene Change - Sends an alarm when a camera is covered with something or the camera direction changed to shoot a different scene. The alarm is used by Arcules to record video and alert security staff.

Other

  • Occupancy Analytics - Calculate occupancy totals across multiple devices with People Counting analytic enabled and trigger an alarm and/or notification when occupancy thresholds are met. Occupancy analytics can support any combination of People Counter compatible cameras from Axis and Bosch.

  • Video Motion Detection (VMD) - When motion (i.e. person, vehicle or moving object) is detected for a camera it can trigger recording, alarms and send notifications to alert security staff.

Note: Cloud-based video analytics are currently not available for cameras connected to an Edge Storage gateway.

  • People in Region - Detect the presence of persons in a designated region within a camera’s field of view

  • Vehicles in Region - Detect the presence of a vehicle (or vehicles) in a designated region within a camera’s field of view

  • Forensic Search - Search playback for either a person or a vehicle, either in conjunction with a color or not.

  • Motion or Area of Interest Search - Search playback based on an Area of Interest bounding box, or based on detected motion. (This search is also available for Edge Storage)

Camera-to-Cloud Analytics

Camera-to-Cloud analytics are like our Device and Edge analytics support, where the analytics detections are generated by the camera. They differ in a few key ways:

  • The Axis Object Analytics ACAP application supported by Camera-to-Cloud does not need to be turned on - it's managed by your system and is "always on."

  • They do not require any configuration in the Axis OS camera interface - they "just work."

  • They are fully integrated into our Forensic Search like our Cloud Analytics.

Analytics Visualizations

Display these analytics results using interactive charts on your dashboard.

  • Heat Map - Determine the areas in a camera’s field of view that show higher numbers of people detections

  • Parked Vehicle Count - Provide hourly counts of parked cars detected by a camera

  • People Count - Provide hourly counts of people detected by a camera
