Overview

With our cloud storage option for Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) devices, you can enjoy extended retention, allowing you to store videos for longer periods than what's possible with just an SD card. This provides a reliable backup in case your camera or SD card becomes unavailable. Additionally, our service enhances security, protecting your valuable data from potential on-site damage or vandalism. Plus, you can easily meet legal retention requirements, ensuring compliance with regulations while keeping your footage safe and accessible.

How Does It Work?

The cloud storage functionality acts as a backup by scanning everything on your SD card and uploading it to the cloud (24/7). The time it takes to upload everything and catch up to the current moment can vary based on your network speed and the amount of video stored on the SD card (especially if the SD card is full).

Enabling Cloud Storage

Follow these steps in order to enable cloud storage for a specific C2C device.

  1. Login to your Arcules web portal.

  2. Select the Devices section on the left menu.

  3. Then, select the Video sub-section.

  4. Click on the C2C device you want to configure from the list of devices. You can identify a C2C device by looking for the camera icon with a cloud symbol in the Connection column.

  5. Initially, you will see the Overview section.

  6. Select the Storage section.

  7. In the Storage Settings for this Camera section, check the box next to Enable Cloud Upload to turn on cloud storage.

  8. Additionally, you can configure the number of days for the Video Retention time in the cloud. You can choose a retention period anywhere from 1 to 90 days.

  9. Finally, click on the APPLY CHANGES button.

What is the Retention Time of the Video in the Cloud?

You can set the video retention time anywhere from 1 to 90 days, depending on your preference in the web portal. After the selected retention period, the video will no longer be available in the Cloud.

Can I Schedule When to Send Video to the Cloud (just like with a Gateway Appliance)?

Currently no, but we are working on providing this option for the near term, so you can have a better control on when the video will reach the cloud, allowing you to ensure the bandwidth is conserved during peak hours.
