In case a camera becomes broken or needs to be replaced outright, there are options that you may take.
Not keeping recordings
If you don't need previous recordings you can delete the old camera and add the replacement camera to the portal normally.

Replace cameras while keeping the same IP and footage
If you're planning to replace a camera but want to keep the recordings and the same IP address, please follow the steps below. Once completed, reach out to our Customer Care team at support@arcules.com with the required information, and we'll take care of the rest.
Steps to replace a camera while keeping the Same IP Address:
Add the new camera to the network
Contact Arcules Customer Care with the following details:
Old device’s IP address
-This is the IP address you want the new device to take over
New device’s IP address
New device's username
New device's password
Replacing a camera with a different number of channels.
If the new device has a different number of channels, please follow the steps below:
Rename the existing camera by adding “_old” to the end of its nameGo to the recording settings and set to "Do Not Record"
Once this is complete, contact our Customer Care team at support@arcules.com with the following details:
IP address to be used for the new camera
MAC address of the new camera
Credentials (username and password) for the new camera
Our engineering team will make the necessary changes on the backend to allow the new camera to use the same IP address.
After the retention period for the old camera ends, please delete the “_old” camera from the web portal.
FAQ
Does the new device need to be online and have internet connectivity?
Yes, the new device must be online and reachable on the network.
Will the old device still be in the portal?
No, the old device will be removed from the gateway. All previously recorded footage will automatically be associated with the new camera.
Will I need to setup recording schedules with the new device?
No, Schedules (e.g., recording schedules) will remain in place for the new device.
What if the replacement camera has more channels/streams than the old one?
The new camera must have the same number of channels as the old one. If the new device has a different number of channels, see this.
Can the replacement camera be a different make and/or model from the old camera?
Yes, the replacement camera can be a different make or model.
Can I replace a camera with an ONVIF camera?
You may replace an Axis camera with an ONVIF camera or an ONVIF camera with an Axis camera. However, this process does not support RTSP (Universal Driver) devices.
Will I need to update the device settings on the replacement camera?
Device-specific settings (e.g., white balance, brightness, resolution) will not be retained. These settings will revert to default and may need to be re-configured manually on the new camera.
